HM Treasury have today issued a press release explaining how the 2007 budget will impact the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Announcements of particular interest to businesses and individuals in
Yorkshire and the Humber include:
- a major package of reforms to the corporate tax system
- maintenance of the Government’s commitment that private and public
sector R&D investment each reach 2.5 per cent of GDP
- investment in the growth of the UK’s science and innovation system
- encouragement of growth through innovation by increasing R&D tax credit rates
- acceptance of Sir Michael Lyons’ recommendations that
business rates yield remain linked to RPI
- raising the National Minimum Wage
