The regional level of government in the UK is becomingly increasingly important

  • National powers in the areas of planning, housing and transport are being devolved to regional level
  • The role of regional governance is evolving
  • Regional initiatives, such as the Northern Way and City Regions are changing the way in which national regional policy is developed
  • Local authorities and other bodies, such as Local Strategic Partnerships, are working together at sub-regional and regional level

Bradford Council recognises the importance of these developments and sees it as a priority to develop its role as a key player within the region.
